Parent Code of Conduct
As a parent, carer, guardian, or spectator of Halifax Hotspurs Soccer Club (HHSC) we need to recognise the vital role we play in supporting and encouraging all players to achieve their full potential.
As a parent, carer, guardian, or spectator of Halifax Hotspurs Soccer Club (HHSC), I recognise the vital role I play in supporting and encouraging all players to achieve their full potential while maintaining the highest standards of sportsmanship. In doing so, I commit to the following code of conduct:
Always be positive and encouraging towards all players, regardless of their team or skill level, and avoid singling out any player for criticism or praise.
Applaud the opposition team and show respect for their efforts and achievements.
Refrain from coaching from the sidelines or giving instructions to players during the game.
Support the coach, manager, and the team, and trust in their ability to make the best decisions for the team.
Avoid shouting or screaming during the game and maintain a calm and respectful demeanor towards everyone involved in the game.
Respect the decisions of the referee, even if I do not agree with them, and avoid any kind of unsportsmanlike conduct towards officials, coaches, players, or parents.
Refrain from any behaviour that may be detrimental to the well-being of my child, any player, the team, or Halifax Hotspurs Soccer Club (HHSC).
Encourage all children to participate in soccer and show enthusiasm and appreciation for their efforts, regardless of their skill level.
Lead by example and demonstrate a commitment to fair play, respect for opponents, and good sportsmanship at all times.
By adhering to this code of conduct, I aim to contribute to a positive and supportive environment for all players, coaches, and officials, and help to promote the values of fair play, respect, and integrity in the game of soccer.
