Parent Code of Conduct

As a parent, carer, guardian, or spectator of Halifax Hotspurs Soccer Club (HHSC) we need to recognise the vital role we play in supporting and encouraging all players to achieve their full potential.

As a parent, carer, guardian, or spectator of Halifax Hotspurs Soccer Club (HHSC), I recognise the vital role I play in supporting and encouraging all players to achieve their full potential while maintaining the highest standards of sportsmanship. In doing so, I commit to the following code of conduct:

  • Always be positive and encouraging towards all players, regardless of their team or skill level, and avoid singling out any player for criticism or praise.

  • Applaud the opposition team and show respect for their efforts and achievements.

  • Refrain from coaching from the sidelines or giving instructions to players during the game.

  • Support the coach, manager, and the team, and trust in their ability to make the best decisions for the team.

  • Avoid shouting or screaming during the game and maintain a calm and respectful demeanor towards everyone involved in the game.

  • Respect the decisions of the referee, even if I do not agree with them, and avoid any kind of unsportsmanlike conduct towards officials, coaches, players, or parents.

  • Refrain from any behaviour that may be detrimental to the well-being of my child, any player, the team, or Halifax Hotspurs Soccer Club (HHSC).

  • Encourage all children to participate in soccer and show enthusiasm and appreciation for their efforts, regardless of their skill level.

  • Lead by example and demonstrate a commitment to fair play, respect for opponents, and good sportsmanship at all times.

By adhering to this code of conduct, I aim to contribute to a positive and supportive environment for all players, coaches, and officials, and help to promote the values of fair play, respect, and integrity in the game of soccer.
