HHSC INFORMATION

The Children and Family Services Act is designed to protect children from abuse and neglect. There have recently been dedicated improvements to the Act, resulting in over 80 amendments.

The Rule of Two states that there will always be two screened and NCCP trained or certified coaches with a player.

To assist families with payment, there are organisations that offer financial assistance for children registering in sports programs.

These guidelines are intended for use for Halifax Hotspurs Soccer Club (HHSC) to help establish a common understanding of expectations for increasing the protection of children/youth (players) taking part in overnight trips.

At Halifax Hotspurs Soccer Club (HHSC), all children have the right to a safe and respectful environment that is free from child sexual abuse and/or inappropriate conduct.

As a parent, carer, guardian, or spectator of Halifax Hotspurs Soccer Club (HHSC) we need to recognise the vital role we play in supporting and encouraging all players to achieve their full potential.

At Halifax Hotspurs Soccer Club (HHSC), we are committed to fostering a safe and inclusive environment for all members of our community.

Board, Coaches and Volunteers who could have contact with, or access to, children and/or vulnerable individuals in their roles, must submit a “clear” Canadian Police Information Check (CPIC)

Halifax Hotspurs Soccer Club (HHSC) has developed this Code of Conduct to Protect Children because we are committed to ensuring all children are protected and safe.

Coaches will consistently display high standards of behaviour and experience and be a role model for players, parents, and spectators.

Halifax Hotspurs Soccer Club (HHSC) recognizes that its employees and volunteers may have access to confidential information that must be safeguarded to ensure the privacy and protection of individuals and the organisation.
