ABOUT HHSC

Halifax Hotspurs Soccer Club was founded in 2003 by a group of women with a desire to play the sport they loved without the rigidity of the large club structure. Founded on principles of autonomy, inclusion, safety, lifelong participation, and a commitment to maintaining accessibility through low player fees, Halifax Hotspurs Soccer Club provides a welcoming, supportive environment and a sense of community for all.

Eduardo – Head Coach – National B License

As a youth player, Eduardo captained the Nova Scotia Canada Games team to a bronze medal in the summer of 2001. That fall he followed up with a senior men’s national championship, the first ever for any Nova Scotian team, playing for Halifax King of Donair. While earning his Psychology degree at St. Mary’s University Eduardo was an impact player for the men’s side helping the squad earn a CIS national silver medal in 2006 and earning both AUS and CIS honors throughout his career.

Wendy – Head Coach – National B License

Wendy attended the University of Ottawa where she captained women’s team for four of the five years she played.  She was named the captain of the Canadian Team who competed in the World University Games held in Thailand in 2007.  Through her university career Wendy was recognized as both an OUA and National all-star for her impact on the pitch.
